“Nothing trendier in kids parties right now than Barbie! I have loved seeing so many fab Barbie themed soirées this spring and it doesn’t seem to be slowing down anytime soon! When I saw Angela Johnsons’ @angelajohnsonphotography Barbie box mini sessions on IG I couldn’t wait to style a shoot around it! With a small army of our very own real life Barbies and a fab group of Barbie loving vendors we created Barbie Magic! Making her kids party debut was the beautiful chic all white Wedding Bounce House rental from @jumpinlovetricities this is what every bounce house aspires to be- fun and beautiful – the perfect backdrop for any theme or color scheme and the ultimate kids party activity, you really wouldn’t need anything else to entertain your guests! For our birthday barbies this was our dream house, inflatable style!
Picnics may be the only thing hotter than Barbie right now in girls’ party trends- and we decided she definitely needed a cupcake picnic with the rest of her Birthday Barbie Crew- everything on the table except the flowers and the chiffon were found at the dollar store! Styled by @Poshpartybebes, Pink barbie shoe “confetti” + mini barbie figurines and adorable hot pink place settings made our picnic table pop- almost as darling as our DIY pink peony floral arrangements!
Wouldn’t be a Barbie party without that signature Barbie Box! Coupled with another super trendy design elements- an arched wooden panel backdrop wall available for rent along with two other similar panels from @poshpartybebes and another diy project, our custom Barbie Jeep! Salt and light digital studio @saltandlightdigitalstudios brought our logo dreams to life by adding the perfect finishing touches to our setup with her vinyl decals- she also does gorgeous custom signage including the adorable party sign used for our picnic!
The Jeep was a pretty easy diy – even for a stay at home mom with two boys at home- popped off the seat and wheels to spray paint white and hand painted the hood, only because I couldn’t rip it off without ruining it, ha. Once salt and light digital studio designed and installed the decal it was perfect! If I had more time I would’ve definitely loved to turn the water guns attached to the top into confetti cannons so please someone read this and do it!
My fave Part of most of the shoots that I get to do are the desserts or food- in this case of course I not only asked Chef Megan Savely from Frost Me Sweet to whip me up the worlds most amazing Barbie treats- but her daughter Irie was our Barbie birthday girl inspiration! The cakes were so beautiful we couldn’t eat them- you’ve never seen a more chic Barbie cake than this gorgeous glammed out masterpiece- custom acrylic Barbie toppers and name plates in the most luxe soft white and sparkley pink- all of the desserts outsid themselves and by far the crowd fave at the shoot was Frost Me Sweets’ Boho Barbie cake- completely with dried floral and more custom acrylic Barbie toppers- we could have given this cake it’s own photoshoot for sure!
As if Angela opening her home and studio and pool to us wasn’t enough she also helped with our wardrobe, creating custom Barbie suits for our crew and bringing our looks together with the most beautiful custom bows from our go to bow gal Shop Mimi and Ruby @shopmimiandruby the jumbo pink bow for our birthday girl was a show stopper! We loved our Barbie poolside lounge area- almost more! than we loved everything else
